update 6/9/10

Monika has been doing better, her recovery has been good.

Last weeks surgery went fine and doctors removed her support structure.she still continues on IV though.

she is now able to sit on wheelchair by some support. and we were able to take her out of her room for some time for a change.

Long overdue updates

Dear All,

First sorry for delays on the update for so long on the blog.As many of us have been visiting her i Just got lil lazy in updates .

Monika has shows some V good progress in her recovery. She has been able to talk with better ease now after few speech therapy sessions.She is able to move her hand ,legs,fingers etc.

She has been able to take normal food through mouth

Her stitches were removed last week. and physiotherapy for her left leg and hands are happening.Her other vital signs has been good for a while. Doctors tried to make her sit on the beds edge but she still had some difficulty in doing that.

Doctors have planned a small surgery on This Friday(6/4) to remove her legs and pelvic support structures.

She was pleased to see all the people who has been visiting her . I would recommend that if you plan to visit her feel free to do so( try to strike some conversation with her beyond health ).

It helps to divert her thoughts to something different and at the same time it makes her feel better and supported.
